•    to organize the annual Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Economics;
•    to develop activities of fundamental and applicative scientific research in the fields of: economic policies, economy of trade, tourism and services, company management and marketing, banking, financial marketing and other related subfields;
•    to provide traning courses and to offer guidance and advice in the abovementioned fields;
•    to contract and monitor research studies or articles;
•    to cooperate with universities, the business environment or other institutions, organisations and professional categories - be they foreign or domestic - in order to facilitate research and the dissemination of the studies conducted;
•    to cooperare, based on regional projects, with foreign or domestic institutions in order to attract resources and to intensify the use of local resources with the purpose of improving the quality of life and the social cohesion of the local communities in the North-Eastern Region and of boosting competition within the regional economy.
