🧑‍💼 President of the Board of Administration – Responsibilities

The President of the Board fulfills the following duties:

• a) Prepares, convenes, and chairs regular and extraordinary meetings of the Board
• b) Invites individuals from university leadership or external institutions whose presence is necessary
• c) Ensures communication between the Board and other university leadership structures, as well as with the Petre Andrei Academic Foundation
• d) Oversees the public dissemination of the Board’s decisions
• e) Represents the Board in relations with similar bodies from other higher education institutions, both domestic and international

📘 Legal Framework

According to Article 211, paragraph 6 of the National Education Law no. 1/2011, the Board of Administration of private universities is appointed by their founders. For “Petre Andrei” University, this is the Petre Andrei Academic Foundation. The Board ensures the university’s operational leadership and implements the strategic decisions of the University Senate.

🛠 Responsibilities of the Board of Administration

• a) Defines the institutional budget in operational terms
• b) Approves budget execution and annual financial statements
• c) Sets annual tuition fees and other specific charges
• d) Establishes criteria for fee exemptions, reductions, rescheduling, and late payment penalties
• e) Approves calls for academic and research positions
• f) Reviews proposals for new study programs and recommends termination of those misaligned with the university’s mission or financially/academically inefficient
• g) Approves financial operations exceeding thresholds set by the founders
• h) Proposes long- and medium-term strategies and policies to the University Senate
• i) Recommends university participation in associations, creation of foundations or companies, and approves financial contributions to their assets or share capital
• j) Proposes the structure and membership of the University Ethics Committee
